"I've never seen an Ace like this before!" A line heard all the time in Smith Ace Hardware. While we do have hardware, grills, and power equipment, we also have a collection of toys, gifts, and paper products; there's a little something for everybody. And our employees go above and beyond to make sure customers have a pleasant shopping experience. With all the amenities of a modern-day retail establishment, we've kept the charm of the neighborhood Southern general store. Everyone, from the owners to the part-time cashiers, benefits from a friendly, collaborative environment. Ideas are shared, tasks are distributed evenly – every employee plays a vital role at Smith Ace.
Aside from the pleasant work surroundings, the Dawsons have also maintained the store’s small neighborhood feel, to which customers are extremely loyal. The frequent shoppers at Smith Ace keep the store (and its employees) going strong. The allegiance goes both ways.

Meet the Owners
Cindy and Allen Dawson, along with some business partners, have owned Smith Ace since the fall of 2002. After the separation of the partnership, they became the sole owners in 2006.
They met in Atlanta in 1989 while both working in management at Home Depot. They married in 1992. After moving around a little bit, the two Southerners (Cindy is from Nashville; Allen is from New Orleans) found their way back to Atlanta and became owners of three Smith Ace Hardware stores.
Cindy and Allen have one son, Taylor, born in 1994.
